These Are Challenging Economic Times for Many Americans
The year 2020 is going to go into the history books as one of the most unique years ever. From the ravages of the Coronavirus pandemic to the failure of so many businesses both big and small, this has not bee the easiest of 12 months. And as the nation awaits to see if the legal challenges the President is alleging are going to produce any results, it is important to note that there are also some smaller state issues that may determine the future of not only the country, but also individuals. When it comes to issues like lender liability, for example, there are many people who are relieved to know that the predatory lending practices in at least one state are no longer in place. Limiting the amount of interest that these companies can charge their lenders will, in fact, lead to a significant reduction in the financial challenges that some families face. And while lender liability is only one of the many issues that was on the ballot this month, there is no denying that as the threat of bankruptcy continues to plaque so many individuals and businesses, mitigating lender liability issues is important.
Employment Discrimination and Contract Disputes Are important Aspects of the Challenges Many People Face
Even before the pandemic, there were many Americans who were struggling to live from one paycheck to another. And while the top segments of the population are looking for ways that financial services can help them expand their portfolio, it is important to note that there are even more people who find themselves struggling simply to pay rent and put food o the table for their family. And when it comes to lender liability, there are many people who believe that if companies would no longer be allowed to prey on the most vulnerable, the overall economy of the nation would improve.
When you realize that the people who are in the worst financial situation are also those who are so often living in the worst conditions you quickly begin to see just how important it is to look out for the greater good of everyone in this country. From the cleanliness fo the water people drink to the health of the air that they breathe, there are many environmental issues that also limit the success of many Americans. Working in poor and unhealthy conditions, in fact, can more than double the issues that some people face. Needing more medical care after being exposed to unsafe working and living conditions, many of the poorest Americans find themselves in an even worse situation.
Unfortunately, more than 40% of Americans are worried about indoor and outdoor air quality and carbon emissions. When you factor in the concerns that people have with the atropospheric ozone, particulate matter, sulfur oxides, volatile organic compounds, radon, refrigerants, and methane emission, you begin to see the overwhelming challenges that many Americans face. The latest research about ventilations and the transmission of Covid 19, of course, only multiply the challenges that many Americans face. Adding in the additional threat that more than 33% of all counties in the lower 48 states will face higher risks of water shortages by mid-century as a result of global warming and you can see that these environmental problems will continue to be an even bigger challenge for those Americans who are most financially challenged.
The year 2020 continue to throw one challenge after another at the population as a whole. The fact that the economic solutions to the pandemic rest with decisions that are made by politicians is scary enough, but when you realize that all of these factors disproportionally effect the people with the lowest income the problem can seem even more desperate. The literal health of the nation is at stake and the American public can only hope that the greatest powers will shift to look out for the greater good. And as the nation watches the President of the country face law suit after lawsuit to stay in power it is also important to realize that it may take the courts to enforce the overall well bing of the most vulnerable.
